Treatment

Approximately 70% of homeless veterans suffer from substance abuse problems, 45% suffer from mental illness including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and the incidence of PTSD and suicide rates among veterans is climbing.

To counter these statistics, each veteran in our program will be assigned a case manager who will complete a thorough assessment. The case manager will then develop a comprehensive written service plan and link veterans to mental health counseling and psychiatric services. Case managers, or other certified staff, will facilitate groups such as Addictive Diseases, Recovery Process, and Relapse Prevention. Other psycho-educational groups will be offered to include Anger Management, Coping Skills, and Stress Management. The veterans will also have the opportunity for educational and vocational skills training and/or social opportunities through community partners. The veterans will be assisted with placement into permanent housing, permanent supportive housing, or reunification with family.
